From Winter Winds to Summer Memories: A Story of River Swimming and Clay

Winter Reflections

The winter is right outside my window. I went for a walk, but the cold wind felt sharp against my face. After a short stroll to catch some fresh air, I returned home, made myself a warm tea, and sat in front of my laptop to write. Whenever it’s freezing outside, my mind drifts back to summer stories—days filled with sunshine, swimming, and unexpected adventures.

A Summer Day Begins

One summer morning, with no plans in mind, I decided to head to the swimming pool to relax, swim, and sunbathe. The walk from my house to the pool takes about half an hour, but halfway there I met Mark.
“Where are you heading?” he asked.
“I just wanted to go for a swim,” I replied.
“Me too, but I’m going to the mountain river. Want to join?”
His smile in the summer sun was convincing, so I agreed.

Journey to the Mountain River

Peaceful forest waterfall with serene stone cairn, ideal for nature and travel themes. We walked for hours, Mark sharing stories about his job and how he had spent his vacation fixing things at home. Though we weren’t close friends, but his company was pleasant. I remembered his past struggles with addiction, but he had been clean for ten years after rehabilitation—a strength I admired.
Finally, we reached a hidden gem: a small waterfall forming a natural pool in the mountain river. We stripped off our shirts and jumped into the icy water, shouting with joy. The chill was invigorating, making me appreciate the contrast between summer heat and winter cold even more.

Clay Spa by Nature

After swimming, Mark suggested we try something new—covering ourselves with clay from a nearby cave. I agreed, curious. He applied clay to my face, while the wind was raising goosebumps on his skin. Standing in front of him, shirtless, him touching me on the face, and his body with a goosebumps. That was a real summer fever for me.
We covered each other in clay, lay down by the waterfall, and let the sun dry us. The warmth returned, creating a great excitement, and an unforgettable experience.

A Memory That Lasts

That day—the river, the clay, his veins—remains etched in my memory. We swam together many times after, but that first adventure was special. It was more than just a summer day; it was a reminder of how nature heals, surprises, and connects us.
